ITES Year Three Impact Report
The Innovating for Transport and Energy Systems (ITES) programme is pleased to publish its third annual impact report, showcasing a year of deepened UK-India collaboration, SME growth, and systemic innovation in clean transport and energy.
Building on the momentum of previous years, the 2024–25 report highlights how ITES has continued to unlock commercial opportunities for UK innovators while addressing global net zero challenges.

Supporting SME Success
This year, ITES has continued to support over 50 UK SMEs across a range of activities between the UK and India. These innovators engaged in pilots, R&D, and market exploration activities, with over 57% now collaborating with Indian partners as a direct result of ITES. The report highlights the success from ITES-supported demonstration projects, including industry collaborations with Tata Power, Motovolt, ConnectM, and BuymyEV.
From innovative energy storage solutions to advancing digital energy platforms, the programme has helped SMEs accelerate their technology roadmaps and secure investment.

Driving Knowledge and Market Insight
ITES continued to deliver high-value insights through its Knowledge Series, publishing tools and market research that inform both policy and commercial strategy. These resources are helping innovators navigate complex regulatory environments and identify scalable solutions.

Strengthening UK-India Partnerships
Through flagship events and bilateral engagement, ITES has played a key role in shaping the UK-India innovation dialogue. The programme convened stakeholders across government, industry, and academia to address systemic barriers, while supporting the vibrant and vital innovation landscape.

What’s Next?
As ITES continues into this financial year, the focus will be on scaling impact, deepening partnerships, and ensuring long-term sustainability.

“The UK and India are already global hubs of innovation, particularly in transport and energy. By sharing insights and scaling solutions – as ITES is doing – we can accelerate green growth, improve energy resilience, and drive the supply chains and solutions that will define the next decade.”
