ITES-facilitated collaboration paves the way for ongoing international strategic partnerships
LiNa Energy is a developer and producer of solid-state sodium batteries that are particularly well suited for solar storage. Thanks to a patented design and use of abundant raw component materials, LiNa’s batteries are lower cost to deploy and offer higher performance than lithium-ion alternatives, especially in hotter climates.
This innovative technology is particularly well suited to the Indian markets as there is a huge growth market for solar energy with the Indian Ministry of Power identifying the need for over 200 GWhr battery energy storage by 2030.
LiNa Energy was one of the first 19 SMEs to be selected to join the ITES programme, providing a strong external validation of LiNa’s technology and the important role it can play on the global path to Net Zero.
Through ITES, LiNa Energy has been able to collaborate with a major Indian power company to showcase how LiNa’s battery cells deliver superior performance, safety, cost and sustainability benefits. LiNa Energy is demonstrating their distribution scale 10kW system in country, providing a fantastic opportunity to showcase how well suited their novel approach is to the Indian market and working with an established player in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity.
This demonstration also paves the way for exploring potential business models with this important strategic partner to facilitate the long-term development of LiNa Energy’s capabilities.
